My friend and I decided to go on a morning walk and take pics of whatever caught our eye. I liked the idea of walking through the Millwork District and capturing photos of old buildings from different view points.

Every spring the Mississippi River floods, but the downtown area of Davenport Iowa refuses to build a levee system to hold the waters back. It would block the river view. Some years the waters come several blocks up the banks and flood out local businesses.

As the semester comes to and end and summer elbows its way in, I find myself more and more anxious to get out on the road again. Summer road trips with the top down are what I live for. One more week and I’ll be free to send myself hurtling towards California once again.
